ASEAN Federation of Smart Industry (AI)

is a regional grouping of individual, companies and industrial associations from the ASEAN countries. Presently, the AI constitutes of seven member countries, that is, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. Together they represent a total of more than 3,000 individual, companies and associations that involve in Fourth Industrial Revolution/Digital Transformation.

 

AI formed in 8 August 2020.

 

Imbued with the spirit of “Unity & Friendship”, AI seeks to promote intra-ASEAN economic co-operation and co-ordination in the field of the smart industry. Its other purpose is to develop and initiate the preparation and implementation of plans, programmes and projects that will promote intra-ASEAN smart industries and trade.

Big Data Analytics (BDA)

BDA is the use of advanced analytic techniques against very large, diverse big data sets that include structured, semi-structured and unstructured data, from different sources, and in different sizes from terabytes to zettabytes.

Automation & Robotics

the use of control systems, computers and information technology in handling various processes and machinery in an industry. The ultimate aim is to replace manual labor and increase efficiency, speed, and overall performance.

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)

The Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a system of interrelated, internet-connected objects that are able to collect and transfer data over a wireless network without human intervention. The personal or business possibilities are endless

Additive Manufacturing (AM)

AM or 3D printing the computer-controlled sequential layering of materials to create three-dimensional shapes. ... Depending on the technique adopted, printing can produce multiple components simultaneously, can use multiple materials and can use multiple colours.

Artificial Intelligent (AI)

Artificial intelligence leverages computers and machines to mimic the problem-solving and decision-making capabilities of the human mind.

Augmented Reality (AR)

AR is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory.

Manufacturing Execution System

A manufacturing execution system (MES) is an information system that connects, monitors and controls complex manufacturing systems and data flows on the factory floor. The main goal of an MES is to ensure effective execution of the manufacturing operations and improve production output.

Cyber Security

Cyber security refers to the body of technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from attack, damage, or unauthorized access.

Simulation

A simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system over time

ASEAN

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

Brunei Darussalam then joined on 7 January 1984, Viet Nam on 28 July 1995, Lao PDR and Myanmar on 23 July 1997, and Cambodia on 30 April 1999, making up what is today the ten Member States of ASEAN.

WE, the Heads of State/Government representing the peoples of the Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (hereinafter referred to as ASEAN), namely Brunei Darussalam, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, on the occasion of the 35th ASEAN Summit in Bangkok, Thailand:

 

GUIDED by the purposes and principles enshrined in the ASEAN Vision 2025 Community and the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Blueprint 2025 that consolidate our community, building upon and deepening the integration process to enhance a peopleoriented, people-centred ASEAN Community, where our peoples enjoy higher quality of life and the benefits of community building, reinforcing our sense of togetherness and common identity;

 

INSPIRED by the recognition at the 30th ASEAN Summit 2017 in Manila, where we recognized the need for ASEAN to be well-prepared and able to maximize the opportunities from the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), so as to foster the region’s economic growth, and promote inclusive and equitable economic development, as well as to maintain ASEAN centrality and affirm its role as a key player in global production networks;
